Always looking for the next great pizza, I decided to try Red Brick Pizza at The District in Tustin. I looked over their menu online and was immediately impressed with the number of options that they had. At Red Brick, you can not only choose your toppings, but you can choose your sauce and crust as well. Red Brick Pizza boasts that they bake your pizza in a 1000 degree oven so that your pizza only takes 3 minutes to bake.
After looking over their menu, I decided to get a large Pepperoni Suprema ($18.00) and a Medium Pizza with Chipotle sauce, Canadian Bacon and Jalapenos ($15.00). I ordered my pizza online using LiveOnTheGo.Com (Use code "GRIFFINEATS" to get $5 off your first order-Many other restaurants to choose from). I asked them to have the pizza ready at 7:00 PM. I drove down to the District and had quite a difficult time finding parking. I finally found a spot and walked over to Red Brick. I walked in at 7:00 PM on the dot. The pizza wasn't ready, so I stood around for about 10 minutes until it was.
I took the pizza home and opened my large Pepperoni Suprema. I was shocked to see that this "Suprema" hardly had any pepperoni on it at all. The pizza was also pretty small. This did not look like an $18.00 pizza. I grabbed a slice and took a bite. My tongue was immediately attacked by oregano. I am a HUGE fan of oregano, and I even sprinkle it on my pizza sometimes. This tasted like the cook had accidentally spilled an entire gallon of it on to my pizza though. The taste of the oregano was so strong, I couldn't even taste the pepperoni or the cheese. The crust was also a little dry. I was annoyed that I had paid so much for this pizza. I have had $5 large pizzas that were much better than this.
The second pizza was to be shared by "I" and "V". They opened their pizza box and found a tiny pizza inside. This "medium" pizza would barely pass for a small at any other restaurant. The pizza was about the size of an individual pizza that you would expect to get at a casual dining restaurant. Both of the girls liked the pizza, but said that the Chipotle sauce was not spicy at all. They also didn't think the pizza was worth anywhere near the $15 we had paid for it.
Overall, we were all very disappointed with this pizza place. We paid $35.56 for these two pizzas. We would have been much better of going to Pizza Hut, Pacino's, Ameci or many other pizza places, and we would have spent a lot less. I would not recommend Red Brick Pizza to anyone. The only way I would even consider trying it again, would be if they cut their prices in half...or maybe even by 75%...
Do you like Red Brick Pizza? Please leave me a comment and tell me why. I'd love to hear from you.

I went to that location once and it didn't exactly meet my expectations.
I agree. The only reason I went there was because I had a buy 1 get 1 free personal pizza. The 1 that I had to purchase costed about what I would have paid for 2 personal pizzas anywhere else...so there wasn't much of a savings. The pizzas were decent, but I would never go back there without a coupon!
I can't understand how this place has so many locations. Who is spending all this money on crappy pizza?!
One of my favorite sayings is "You can't buy good taste"
Maybe this explains why this place stays in business
They built one near me in Fontana, but I haven't gone there yet. All I need to see is the lack of pepperoni vs the price and size of the one you ordered, and my mind is made up. I won't be wasting my money.
Thank you for the review.
I eat here all the time i work for a company down the street i think the food is delicous and flavorful. I wouldnt even compare to 5 dollar pizzas
But do you think it's right for them to put such a small amount of pepperoni on a pizza called a "Pepperoni Suprema"? Not to mention charging 18 bucks for such a small pizza....
Lauren-I wouldn't go back even if I had a coupon.
Anonymous-I've spoken to many people offline about this place as well. you're honestly the first person that has told me that they like this place. Are you sure you don't work there?
Captain-I agree. If they are going to charge $18 for a pepperoni pizza, it should have so much pepperoni that you can't see the cheese. If they put that much pepperoni on the pizza, what would their cost really be? 50 cents? A dollar? I've seen pepperoni on sale at Albertsons for $2 a pound, so I'm sure their cost on pepperoni can't be that much!
GRIFFIN,
I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT. THEY ALWAYS MAKE OUR FOOD ON TIME AND THE TAST IS OUTSTANDING. THE FOOD IS MUCH MORE FLAVORFUL THEN OTHER PIZZA PLACES. I EAT THERE 2 TIMES A MONTH AND MY COMPANY DOES GROUP ORDERS FROM THEM TOO. I THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE HAD A BAD DAY. YOU SHOULD DEFINETLY TRY THEM. DON'T GO THROUGH LIVEONTHEGO.COM ALSO THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY.
What does ordering from LiveOnTheGo have to do with anything?
i think i ate at the quail hill center one several years ago, but nothing remarkable about it. i'd eat cpk over red brick anytime!
Yeah. I hit the Irvine location recently and was none too impressed.
I really like their Thai pizza. I usually just get the personal size for $7 something. I like it for when you don't want traditional delivery pizza, but also don't want to spend all the money to go to CPK. (Nope I don't work there.)
I've eaten here several times and actually LOVE their pizza. Yes, you are correct that there toppings are not "loaded" like other place but, the pizza here sure tastes a lot better. If you're looking to get a pizza loaded with stuff, go to Costco.
I like their pizza because it tastes great and as a Diabetic, the Calories, Carbs, Fat, and Sodium are anywhere from about 1/3 to 1/2 less than anywhere else I've been to. Also, they said they use Olive Oil in their dough while some other places still use lard ofr vegetable oil. I know that Olive Oil is a lot healthier for you.
I don't leave this place with a felling that I've been loaded down with a thick piece of bread and tons of cheese (which is loaded with fat). I feel very satisfied after eating here. By the way, their salads are excellent. I wish they sold their salad dressings to customers. I can't seem to emulate the same taste. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to keep eating here.
I guess if your looking for the $5 pizza made with lots of lard, fake cheese and other weird stuff. Red Brick claims quality and from the taste it is definitely clean and high quality. It amazes me how many people fill their mouths with bad stuff.
I go at least twice a month and love the garlic chicken, but I have not yet had anything bad. I give it 5 stars.
I went to this location to get 2 pizzas to go. The kid who took the order was unprofessional to begin with, and they kept laughing & finally burnt one side of one of the pizzas. Until I confronted they were just gonna give me the burnt one. The new one they made me was strangely tasteless while the other one became completely cold. This place is a joke. GM or Chrysler are not the only ones with quality problems... Too many morons out there got their mouths no different from their anus.
You do realize that its HEALTHY Pizza right? A Small cheese Pizza is 400 calories. That's why their sizes are not monster huge..
If you like a good pizza thats good for you and fresh not over proccessed then youll love red brick.
If you are used to pizza hut pizza and paying 5 bucks for that type of pizza then your gonna think redbrick is over priced.. But when made correctly.. RedBrick is great pizza. I have eatin at one that puts the toppings on correctly. The Ham on that pizza is not the right amount I can assure you.. This is what happens when 16 or 18 year olds arent managed correctly.
After doing a little research, I've discovered that this place is a franchise so, now I understand why they make the pizzas the way they do. Don't get me wrong, I love their pizzas and salads and will continue to go here.
Getting back to the franchise issue. They seem to have to follow franchise rules and specs when making the pizzas. So, anyone who has a problem with a good, healthy, tasty pizza, should probably complain to the corporate office.
As far as the service, yes, I've had some inconsisten service since I've starting eating here but, it's so irrelevant compared to the quality of the pizzas. On the few occassions they've burnt my pizza, when they brought out the pizza, they asked me if I wanted another one, complimentary, without me having to ask or complain. i guess it depends on the server but, I have noticed that there are newer workers there that seem to have a much better customer service attitude. That's expected in any small business.
Regardless, the pizza here is great and healthy and I wouldn't go anywhere else, especially those bread-laden, high-fat pizzas that you get for $5.
